We build trust

Compliance principles form the basis for fair business conduct and social dialogue. AMAG Austria Metall AG is committed to being a trustworthy business partner and employer by complying with laws and voluntary agreements, and by transparent reporting of financial and non-financial business activities.

Code of Conduct

Our attitude defines our work. Consequently, as a leading aluminium manufacturer, AMAG is aware of its responsibility towards all stakeholders - business partners, shareholders and investors, employees, society as well as government institutions. The Code of Conduct sets out the central corporate values that form the basis for morally and legally correct behavior. These values apply not only to AMAG and its subsidiaries, but also to suppliers.

Human rights and supply chain responsibility

We take responsibility - at our sites and along the supply chain.

AMAG Austria Metall AG respects and promotes compliance with human rights both within its own company and in the supply chain. Employees are treated in accordance with the principle of equal opportunity - i.e. without distinctions based on gender, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation or other status. The aim is to exceed legal requirements wherever possible and so create an optimal working environment.

The responsibility to comply with internationally applicable human rights is also considered in the selection of suppliers and is a prerequisite for business partners. Basic requirements of the compliance rules for AMAG suppliers relate not only to human rights but also to management, occupational safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency. They are integrated into AMAG's general purchasing conditions.

Compliance Line ​​​​​​​

If you become aware of a violation of any applicable law or internal regulations at AMAG (Code of Conduct, Compliance Rules for Suppliers), you can report this via the Compliance Line. Concerns are consistently monitored by the responsible departments. The Compliance Line is available to employees and the general public alike. The identity of the informants is kept confidential, and all reports are treated anonymously*. It is also possible for employees to contact the HR department directly in the event of violations.
* This does not include misuse of the Compliance Line.

Code of Human Rights

Since 2022, the Human Rights Code has additionally underscored AMAG's claim to be a business partner and employer of integrity. This sets out the central statutory regulations and voluntary obligations, as well as measures for fulfilling the duty of due diligence.

Awards and ratings


AMAG secures platinum rating again in 2023

EcoVadis, operator of an internationally recognized independent sustainability and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) assessment platform, again awarded AMAG's sustainability performance with the highest rating of Platinum in 2023, placing AMAG in the top one percent - the "Top 1 %" - of the companies assessed in the "Precious Metals and Nonferrous Metals" industry category.


AMAG is one of the most sustainable aluminium companies worldwide

In 2023, AMAG received a very good ESG risk ranking from the rating provider Sustainalytics.
Sustainalytics places AMAG in second place within the aluminium sub-industry out of a total of 223 aluminium companies rated here, and in the "Deversified Metals" category AMAG Austria Metall AG achieves first place among 39 listed companies.
The assessment is made in relation to factors that are identified as significant ESG issues of an industry, such as environmental performance, resource conservation, human rights compliance and supply chain management.


AMAG again listed in sustainability index for 2023/24

AMAG Austria Metall AG is, for the period 2023/2024, once again listed in the Vönix, the sustainability benchmark for the Austrian stock market of the Vienna Stock Exchange. It includes those Austrian companies that are frontrunners in terms of social and ecological performance. 
The basis of Vönix is the measurement of corporate sustainability performance. 
AMAG has been continually listed in the Vönix since the 2014/2015 rating.

Effective Sustainability Communicator Award 2022

AMAG was presented with the "Effective Sustainability Communicator Award 2022" at the annual conference of the Cercle Investor Relations Austria (abbreviated CIRA). Among other things, the annual reports and capital market presentations were used to assess the performance of ATX companies in the field of sustainability reporting. The company was able to convince with its holistic and transparent sustainability reporting and achieved second place among all participating ATX companies.

Wiener Börse Preis 2022

Following 2022, AMAG Austria Metall AG was again awarded the "Vienna Stock Exchange Prize" in the "Mid Cap" category, achieving third place overall. With this prize, the Vienna Stock Exchange annually honors top performance by listed Austrian companies. The company was able to convince the expert jury above all with the high quality of its investor support and its transparent capital market communication.

Best Business Award 2022

In 2022, AMAG also received a transnational award for sustainable corporate management. Among other things, the company impressed with its high level of competence in recycling, sustainable production and a clear focus on innovation, and was therefore able to secure the bronze "Best Business Award".

Energy Globe 2022

In 2022, AMAG received the prestigious Energy Globe Upper Austria for the largest rooftop photovoltaic plant. The plant now comprises 60,000 m2 of collector area and is to be expanded to double its solar electricity production capacity in the future. AMAG is thereby making an important contribution to sustainable and secure energy supply.

INEO-Award 2022 - 2025

In 2022, due to its excellent work with apprentices, AMAG, at the Ranshofen site, received the "INEO Award" from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce in the category "Large companies with more than 250 employees". In addition, the site is a holder of the INEO quality seal for the next three years.

Corporate health management

AMAG in Ranshofen has the seal of approval for workplace health promotion (WHP), a national award in the area of employee health. This is the fifth time that the seal has confirmed the importance of health protection at AMAG. In addition to occupational safety, the focus is also on exercise, nutrition and psycho-social health care.
