Innovation, sustainability, diversity and human touch - these are the four pillars on which AMAG's strategy is based.

INNOVATION

For many years, AMAG has focused on the responsible and resource-conserving production of aluminium. A high level of recycling expertise, particularly with regard to more heavily contaminated scrap, as well as application-oriented research and development, form the basis for the innovation of sustainable products. The AMAG Group is chracterised by a very high proportion of special products compared to the industry as a whole and consistently  pursues a strategy focused on innovation and sustainability

The Center for Material Innovation (CMI) (Video) houses laboratories for microscopy, mechanics, surface technology, chemistry and the environment. In addition, the  AMAG Group can draw on an extensive network of renowned universities and research institutes.

AMAG is continuously developing her unique product portfolio to meet individual customer requirements. In the modern Center of Material Innovation (CMI), around 160 employees are busy developing the solutions of tomorrow.

Smart Factory

The Smart Factory (Video) for sample production and testing is integrated into the Center für Material Innovation an will be an essential part of the material approval testing in the future. Artificial intelligence is used here to generate and test around 500,000 specimens annually in time for individual orders.

Research and development

AMAG‘s research strategy is aimed at enhancing competitiveness through the development of customer-specific problem solutions and special products, and thus makes a significant contribution to the growth strategy. A high degree of specialisation, production technologies and farreaching digitalisation play a key role in this endeavour. The optimisation of material properties and the efficient use of materials are also part of the research and development activities.
(R&D) AMAG relies on the cooperation with key customers in technologically challenging sectors with high innovation potential.

Further development as the driving force

AMAG‘s innovation, research and development activities are the driver for increasing competitiveness and the development of customer-specific problem solutions as part of the strategy regarding profitable growth. Many of the product innovations directly or indirectly address current and global social and ecological issues, such as the scarcity of fossil resources, the circular economy, climate change and mobility. Special attention is paid to solutions that enable closed-loop concepts with customers as well as alloy-to-alloy recycling, recycling-friendly alloys, reduce environmental impacts and offer new and improved application options.
