MELTING IN NEW DIMENSIONS
In June of this year, AMAG brought its new economical melting furnace into operation in the cast alloy foundry. The furnace represents the next milestone in AMAG's growth strategy.
Starting up the world's largest tilting-rotary melting furnace enables AMAG to deliver high-quality cast alloys, created using highly-developed melting technology that works in an extremely economical and environmentally friendly manner.
The newly-built tilting rotary melting furnace has massive dimensions, with a capacity of 40 tons of aluminium scrap. Around 10 tons can be smelted within an hour.
ADVANTAGES
Since the tilting rotary melting furnace is ideally suited to melting scrap with high contamination level, it can achieve better recycling percentages, while also providing a high level of flexibility.
The baghouse-system (right) has been optimally dimensioned to ensure complete capture of the exhaust air from the furnace, which is guided through the filter unit via two pre-separators.
