FOUR-TIME PLATINUM RECOGNITION FOR SUSTAINABILITY: AMAG’S HOLISTIC APPROACH ONCE AGAIN PLACES IT AMONG THE GLOBAL INDUSTRY LEADERS
AMAG Austria Metall AG, headquartered in Ranshofen, Upper Austria, has once again been awarded the highest ESG rating, - Platinum status -, by EcoVadis, a leading, independent global platform for ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) ratings. This is the fourth consecutive year that AMAG has achieved this distinction, placing the company once again among the top 1% of rated enterprises worldwide in the “Precious Metals and Non-Ferrous Metals” category.
EcoVadis assesses companies based on international criteria in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. AMAG impressed in particular with measures such as closed-loop recycling, which closes material cycles and ensures maximum resource efficiency. Through its decarbonization roadmap, the company aims to achieve CO₂ neutrality at its Ranshofen site by the middle of the century. In addition, the average scrap utilization rate in Ranshofen stands at 70-80%1, setting industry-wide benchmarks.
The Platinum award is clear evidence that ecological responsibility and technological advancement can go hand in hand - even in an energy-intensive sector such as the aluminum industry.
“The fourth consecutive EcoVadis Platinum award confirms that AMAG consistently meets the underlying international standards and regards sustainability as an integral part of its corporate strategy. This underscores that our customers and partners can rely on AMAG as a responsible and transparent supplier,” saiys Dr. Helmut Kaufmann, CEO and COO of AMAG Austria Metall AG.
