THE HISTORY OF AMAG
1939 - Construction of an aluminium plant in Ranshofen by Vereinigte Aluminiumwerke AG Berlin (VAW)
1948 - Nationalisation of the aluminium plant in Ranshofen
1950 - Construction and commissioning of a rolling and extrusion plant
1979 - Construction of a secondary casthouse in Ranshofen. Aluminium scrap recycling activities commence.
1989 - Construction of the Aluminerie Alouette Inc. smelter in Sept Iles, Quebec, Canada (AMAG holds a 20% interest)
1996 - AMAG privatisation
2003 - Alouette smelter output ramped up from 243,000 t/y to 550,000 t/y (AMAG share 20 %)
2011 - Initial public offering
2014 - The new AMAG hot rolling mill starts production.
2017 - Around 700 guests participate in the festive inauguration of new cold rolling mill on 22 June, 2017.
2022 - AMAG takes over 100% of the German Aircraft Philipp Group (ACP)
