AMAG sales cooperation with Marubeni is taking shape

  • Japanese Marubeni delegation pays a visit to Austria
  • Initial orders secured in Japan and Mexico
  • Defining the next steps of the sales cooperation
  • Cherry trees as a symbol of appreciation

The cooperation agreement signed in Tokyo in July 2019 between AMAG Austria Metall AG, Marubeni Corporation, and Marubeni-Itochu Steel (MISI) for marketing AMAG rolled products in the global automotive industry is gradually taking shape.

A two-day meeting was held in Ranshofen to discuss concrete projects, the cooperation process, and the joint market development strategy with our Japanese partners. This new sales cooperation has already enabled us to secure initial orders in Japan and Mexico.

The quality of AMAG rolled products combined with the market presence and local sales and service center structures of our Japanese partners offers numerous quality and delivery performance benefits to customers in the Japanese automotive industry. The agreement also provides for expansion of the cooperation to include the key markets of Europe, China, the USA, Mexico, India, Thailand and South Korea.

Seven cherry trees were planted at the AMAG site during the meeting in honor of our Japanese guests. The cherry blossom is one of the most important symbols of Japanese culture. It expresses an appreciation of the transient beauty of nature and symbolizes new beginnings and the start of a new journey. The trees are a powerful and sustainable symbol marking the beginning of the partnership.
