AMAG receives highest rating Platinum in the area of sustainability

  • EcoVadis now awards AMAG the highest status of platinum, following a gold rating in December 2020.
  • AMAG in the top one percent ("Top 1%") of the global companies assessed by EcoVadis in the industry.
  • Special emphasis was placed on performance in the areas of the environment, labour as well as human rights were highlighted
  • Award is confirmation of AMAG's holistic sustainability approach

Following a comprehensive audit by EcoVadis, AMAG Austria Metall AG achieved the highest level in the assessment and was awarded the Platinum medal. EcoVadis, as the operator of an internationally recognised, independent sustainability and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) assessment platform, thus honoured AMAG's sustainability performance and placed it in the top one percent  of the companies assessed in the industrial category of precious and non-ferrous metals.

 

AMAG is therefore one of the top-rated companies and secured platinum status in the sustainability rating. This rating from EcoVadis is based on a total of 21 criteria in the four areas of environment, labour and human rights, sustainable procurement and ethics. The following are analysed quantitative targets for energy consumption and greenhouse gases, the impact of operational activities on biodiversity, the management of occupational safety risks and the reduction of waste. Already in December 2020, AMAG was awarded the "Gold Star" certificate by EcoVadis.

With more than 40 years of experience in recycling and an average scrap input rate of 70 - 80 per cent, AMAG, given its diverse product portfolio, is the world leader in aluminium recycling. The focus topic regarding circular economy of the European Green Deal is thus implemented in an exemplary manner.
