AMAG was once again admitted to the 2019/2020 VÖNIX, the Austrian sustainability index. The VÖNIX sustainability index records those Austrian companies ranking as leaders in terms of their social and ecological commitment and performance. The stage was set for AMAG at the renowned "Austria's Leading Companies" (ALC) national business awards held in the "Aula der Wissenschaften" (Hall of Science) in Vienna. In acknowledgement of the company’s entrepreneurial success story, AMAG took the first place in the "Innovation" category. The deciding factors for the jury's decision were the company's impressive achievements in the research & development area, and not least its in-depth knowledge of materials based on nearly 80 years of experience.
The "Energie Star 2017" award bestowed by the State of Upper Austria was presented to AMAG. The award in the "large-scale energy innovation" category was presented in recognition of AMAG's exceptional commitment to energy efficiency. With its sophisticated heat recovery project, launched in late 2015, AMAG uses waste heat from the casting systems to heat the buildings and warehouse, thereby making a significant contribution to energy savings. The flagship project reduces the consumption of natural gas for heating purposes by 35 percent.
Kirchhoff Automotive singled out AMAG rolling GmbH for its exceptional supplier performance as the "Supplier of the Year 2017". In bestowing this award Kirchhoff acknowledged AMAG’s performance as a reliable partner to the automotive industry – most notably in terms of quality and schedule efficiency.
In the course of a festive ceremony on March 9, 2016 held at the Forum of the Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, the Silver Corona Business Location Award went to AMAG. The main reason for the jury’s gratifying decision in favour of AMAG were the plant expansion activities, the jobs created in this context as well as the investments committed and their economic benefits for Upper Austria.
AMAG topped the list at this year’s State of Upper Austria Innovation Award in the Large-scale Company category. The award - bestowed on AMAG on 9 September, 2015 at the ORF State Studios in Linz - acknowledged the particularly innovative aluminium alloy AMAG TopForm®UHS.
Upper Austria’s State Innovation Award, and the Business Upper Austria award honor companies headquartered in Upper Austria This year marked the 22nd event of its kind, in which some 82 projects competed in 4 categories.
AMAG ranks as one of Austria’s top investors - as impressively underlined by this years’ Pegasus awards, Upper Austria’s most prestigious business award. CEO Helmut Wieser and his two fellow Management Board members Dr. Helmut Kaufmann and Gerald Mayer received the coveted Pegasus statuette in gold in the Investor Excellence category (“Investitionskaiser”) on behalf of AMAG. The award was presented on June 11, 2015 during the Gala Night of Business held at the Brucknerhaus in Linz.
AMAG received the bronze “Location-Corona 2015“ award from the Federation of Austrian Industries in recognition of the company’s outstanding support of the region as a business location. The award acknowledges companies that have either committed investments, retained employment, or created new jobs in Upper Austria between 2012 and 2014.
AMAG has remained on a steady growth trajectory for the last 20 years. The commissioning of a new hot rolling mill in September 2014 and the planned construction of a new cold rolling mill have added to the momentum.
For the third time in a row, AMAG has been awarded the highly coveted “Quality Seal of Workplace Health Promotion” for the years 2015-2017 by the Austrian Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ÖNBGF).
AMAG was selected as the winner of the Austrian Sustainability Reporting Award 2014 (ASRA) in the “GRI-First Report" category. The AMAG Sustainability Report convinced the jury with its impressive presentation of the major topics (Strategic Sustainability Management, Compliance, Innovation, Energy Efficiency and Recycling) in connection with forward thinking and concrete goals. Entitled “Adding value through appreciation”, the report describes the economical, ecological and social action achievements of AMAG in their fiscal year 2013.
AMAG received the “Best New Participant“ award at the 2013 CDP annual conference.
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an internationally active organization. Based on standardized questionnaires, the CDP generates climate-related company data such as emissions, climate change risk factors as well as strategies for risk reduction, and holds the largest global collection of self-reported climate change data.
AMAG received an entrance score of 53 points (out of a possible 100) for the 2013 CDP reporting period – a commendable score that, according to the CDP reports, is rarely achieved by companies reporting for the first time.
The Federation of Austrian Industries awards this distinction to companies distinguishing themselves through their achievements in social, cultural, or ecological areas.
AMAG was awarded the Bronze “CSR-Corona” sustainability award for the company’s “AMAG-Social Award” initiative.
